| How to Store Your Fresh Breads French Baguettes are intended for same day eating although they are still fine for garlic bread the next day. French Braids are usually still O.K. the 2nd day when stored in a paper bag. They’ll stay softer in a plastic bag, but lose their crustiness. Our Breads baked in Loaf Pan Shape are intended for being kept in a poly type plastic bag. Most keep well at room temp for 4 days. They keep much longer in the fridge with a bit less eating quality. A warming in the toaster will refresh their flavor. Crusty Artisan Breads keep best in either waxed kraft paper with a plastic window type bags or waxed bags to keep the crust crusty. They keep well that way for 2-4 days. They can be transferred to a poly bag to be put in the fridge for longer keeping, but will lose their crustiness. Part or all of a loaf may be frozen and then taken out to keep at room temp. for a day or two. A Freezing Secret: If freezing breads for a week or more, wrapping them first in aluminum foil, then in a poly bag helps to prevent freezer burn. |
